9 Easy Homemade Yogurt Face Mask Recipes
Yogurt face masks are very easy to make. They are an inexpensive way of exfoliating your skin and making it look better. It also treats your skin subtly without doing any harm. This Buzzle article gives you some easy-to-make yogurt face mask recipes for you to try at home and feel the difference.

Useful Tips for You
Don't use the sweetened or flavored yogurt. It will cause irritation to your skin.
You can use olive oil to moisturize your skin after you wash off the mask.
If it's possible, you could do facial steaming to open the pores, which will improve the efficiency of the mask.

Yogurt, made by fermentation of milk, comes with plenty of health benefits. Apart from assisting the betterment of health, it is increasingly used for different purposes like hair and skin. It is rich in lactic acid (that refines the pores and brightens up the skin) and proteins, and the best thing is that you wouldn't have to struggle to find it. You might just have it in your kitchen.

Yogurt is so useful in face masks that you needn't even add any other ingredient. You can just take a tablespoon of yogurt and apply it on your face. Keep it for 15 minutes and then wash it off. What it does is it not only exfoliates the skin, but also helps in softening, reducing dark spots, and extracting extra oil from the skin.

Using Orange Juice
This face mask is good to lighten skin tone, and helps clear acne on skin. This face mask exfoliates and revitalizes the skin.

Ingredients
1 tbsp. yogurt
Juice and pulp of ¼ orange
1 tbsp. aloe vera gel
Procedure
Mix all the ingredients and form a paste.
Apply on the face and keep it for at least five minutes.
Wash off the mask with water.

Using Oatmeal
This mask will clean the skin off dead cells and give it a fresh look and feel.

Ingredients
1 tbsp. grounded oatmeal
1 tbsp. yogurt
1 tbsp. honey
Procedure
Warm the honey so that it can blend well.
Mix oatmeal and yogurt in a bowl.
Now, mix the honey in the mixture.
Apply the mix to your face and keep it on for 10 - 15 minutes.
Wash it off with warm water.

Using Strawberries
This mask will clean your skin thoroughly and reduce dark spots.

Ingredients
A handful of strawberries
1 tbsp. ground almonds
2 tbsp. yogurt
Procedure
Mash the strawberries and mix it with the ground almonds properly.
Add 1 tbsp. yogurt in it and form a paste.
Apply the paste and keep it for 15 minutes.
Wash it off with water.

Using Turmeric Powder
Turmeric can stain. So wear something old before applying the face mask. Also, you can use a brush if you don't want stained fingers. This mask will make your face look a little yellow, so if you don't want it, you can use it at night.

Ingredients
1 tbsp. turmeric powder
½ cup yogurt
Procedure
Mix the two in a paste.
Apply on your face and keep it for 10 - 20 minutes. Rinse off.

Using Lemon Juice
This face mask will give you an even-toned skin.

Ingredients
½ cup yogurt
4 - 5 drops of lemon juice
Procedure
Mix both the ingredients and make a paste.
Apply onto the face and keep it for 10 - 15 minutes.
Wash it off.

Using Cinnamon and Nutmeg Powder
This face mask might cause a burning sensation. If you have cinnamon allergy, skip it out and continue with other ingredients. This mask will give you rejuvenated skin.

Ingredients
1 tbsp. yogurt
1 tbsp. honey
Pinch of ground cinnamon
Pinch of ground nutmeg
Procedure
Mix all the ingredients as a paste.
Apply to the face and keep it for 7 - 10 minutes.
Wash it off with warm water.

Using Avocado
This mask is perfect for dry skin.

Ingredients
¼ ripe avocado
1 tbsp. yogurt
1 tbsp. olive oil
Procedure
Mash the avocado and mix it with other ingredients.
Apply the paste and keep it for 15 minutes.
Wash with warm water. If it's stuck, do not pull; just scrub gently.

Using Aloe Vera Juice
Applying this face mask on a regular basis will lighten your skin naturally.

Ingredients
½ cup yogurt
2 tbsp. aloe vera juice/gel
½ peeled cucumber
Drops of chamomile oil
Procedure
Mix all ingredients to make a paste.
Apply on your face and keep it for 10 - 15 minutes.
Wash it off with water.

As a Scrub (Using Honey and Almond)
This face mask-cum-scrub acts a skin brightener, where its gently cleans the skin and works on the most sensitive skin type as well.

Ingredients
1 tbsp. honey
2 tbsp. ground almonds
1 tbsp. yogurt
½ tbsp. lemon juice
Procedure
Mix all the ingredients.
Gently rub it on your face for 1 - 2 minutes.
Wash it off with warm water.

Note: Avoid using ingredients that can cause an allergy. Test a portion of the face mask on the inner part of your elbow to see if there is any skin reaction before using it on your face.
